The school will open with grades Pre-K through 7, and ultimately serve students in grades Pre-K through 8.

Yes, students can ride their bikes, non-motorized scooters or walk to school.

No, parents are not permitted on Innovation Drive with their golf cart or allowed on the sidewalks leading up to the school.

At this time, our transportation department anticipates that Kirkland Ranch K-8's start time will be sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., pending the finalization of times for all of the district's schools and pending School Board approval in the spring.

Kirkland Ranch K-8 will have World Languages and Entrepreneurship magnet themes woven throughout the student experience.

World Languages

Students will begin learning Spanish in kindergarten. They will develop skills through a comprehensive language acquisition process, targeting all language domains, such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Cultural connections are also integrated into the program. Students will have the opportunity to obtain up to three high school foreign language credits upon completion of 8th grade.

Entrepreneurship

Students will cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets beginning in kindergarten. They will develop practical skills and build an understanding of the entrepreneurial design process. They will explore their creativity, learn how money works, discover how government and the economy work, and broaden their future career horizons. Students will have the opportunity to earn digital tools (industry certification) and high school credit upon completion of 8th grade.


Students interested in attending must apply through the Pasco Pathways Innovative Programs and School Choice application window January 8, 2024 to January 19, 2024 at www.pascoschools.org/schoolchoice.

Transportation hub stops will be at Pasco Elementary School, Wiregrass Elementary School, and Woodland Elementary School.

No. Kirkland Ranch K-8 is a Pasco County public school, not a private school. There are no tuition costs.

We are excited to announce that we will be opening a PLACE Program at Kirkland Ranch K-8 on Monday, August 12, 2024. Registration for the program starts on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Please visit the PLACE website for more information or call us at 813-794-2298.

Kirkland Ranch K-8 will not have athletics or a gymnasium. Students of KRK8, a dedicated magnet middle school, as defined by school choice, are eligible to try out for sports offered at any public middle school in Pasco County for the 2024-25 school year. Participation is based on attending tryouts at a school of choice and notifying the school prior to attending tryouts. Dedicated magnet middle school students do not have to participate in sports at the same school for entire year, at this time middle school seasons are based the quarter system. The following middle school sports are offered each year at all traditional public schools in Pasco County:

  • 1st qtr. – Girls Volleyball, Cheer, Football
  • 2nd qtr. – Cheer, Girls Basketball, Boys Soccer
  • 3rd qtr. - Boys Basketball, Girls Soccer
  • 4th qtr. – Boys and Girls Track & Field
